St. Märgen — at any time of the year

St. Märgen with its old monastery church and clock museum is located about three kilometres from our inn. The climatic health resort of St. Märgen is situated in the midst of the southern Black Forest nature reserve only 20km from Freiburg. A great part of the area spans a plateau covering a difference in altitude from 570 to 1,130 metres and stretching from Mount Thurner in the south with 1,130m above sea level to the eastern foothills of Mount Kandel in the north with 1,241m above sea level. Some deep valleys adjoin the boundary of St. Märgen to the west and east.

 

Many cultural events and those typical of the Black Forest make the little village a place of interest.

 

Hiking & mountain biking to your heart’s content:

You can start a leisurely walk as well as a challenging alpine hike right from our inn. Numerous hiking trails of different levels of difficulty virtually pass by. Breathtaking views and the tangy unspoilt Black Forest air await you.
Also cyclists on a mountain bike will certainly get their money’s worth. We will gladly help you plan your individual tour.

 

Motor-cyclists are welcome:

Our inn and its surroundings are a true Eldorado for motor-cyclists. Numerous interesting motor-cycle routes start directly at the inn. We are located at the popular panorama Black Forest route. We will be happy to help you plan your tour with our suggestions. You can safely park your motor-cycle in our lockable garage and there is also a drying room for your clothes.

 

Enjoyment and relaxation:

In only 15 minutes by car from our inn you can reach the new “Badeparadies Schwarzwald”, a paradise for bathing and swimming, offering recovery and relaxation on 3,700 sqm with more than 180 palm trees, pool bars, a wellness oasis with various saunas and also 16 high-tech slides for any age.
